THE VISUAL SERIES

Each weekly release is paired with a cinematic rendering depicting a custom-built robotic player piano performing each medley, while OVERWERK sits as a silent witness. The films invite the viewer to consider the relationship between an original idea and the mechanism required to express it.

As each note is struck, the viewer can follow the melody in real time, watching the physical mechanism perform every note. Each film serves as a visual score, making the music legible as it plays.

Across all 14 instalments, the film series runs over two and a half hours of original footage, forming a continuous visual companion to the album as it unfolds week by week. Together they constitute an artistic statement about authorship, inspiration, and the inseparability of music from the technology that makes it audible.
